Vacation Bible School

We just finished up our Wild West Witness Vacation Bible School program for the year and I am so glad!!! It was a lot of work but it was all worth it because six little girls got saved on Friday night! Thank you to everyone that helped - it wouldn't have been possible without you.

It was so nice to have James home this summer to teach the lessons for us. He did a great job teaching the same lesson twice each night. Pastor Fickes took the Young Teens each night which meant they could have a deeper lesson and we could focus more on the younger kids.

Day 1 - Daily Cheer (Paul & Barnabas)

Day 2 - Daily Prayer (Daniel)

Day 3 - Daily Prayer (the Sower)

Day 4 - Daily Bread (Timothy)

Day 5 - Daily Praise (Hannah)

The puppets came out every night to visit. Sheriff Stan, Deputy Dan, Lula Belle, Billy Bob Bully and Josiah were all there. The kids really enjoyed seeing them and Brian, Jamey & Sarah did a great job.

The kids went to the Bank each day and were given coins for coming each night as well as bringing visitors and memorizing verses. They could spend their coins each day at the General Store or they could save them up for the bigger prizes. I think after last week I'm going to need to refill the teasure box.

Overall the week went really well. We had a total of 57 different children come, 31 of which don't normally come to our church and 11 that had never been there before. A lot of the 31 kids had come before to an activity, vbs or during the visitors contest this spring. I am really praying that the church will continue to grow as a result of this years VBS.

Here are a few more pictures of miscellaneous things...

I think that's it... if there is something specific you want to see pictures of let me know.

Baptism

Sunday night we had a Baptismal Service and 6 kids got baptized. It was really an overwhelming blessing to see all the parents there. It is just so awesome to me that we work with the kids for so long and then FINALLY their parents to come to church. What an amazing opportunity we have through prayer!!!

Here are a few pictures from Sunday

I love the look on Austyn's face when she comes up

Catie - she has tubes in her ears but she still wanted to get baptized so she wore this swim cap

Here is all 6 of them. We had a shower curtain for them to stand on so they watch everyone else after they were done. They were pretty funny to watch!

Well, that’s just about all that is going on here. I've been super busy at work so we haven't been doing too much. I did finally get my purse from my sister (if you read her blog) and I'll try to post a picture of that someday. We're also having a big party on June 2nd for the younger kids at church and then we have an all day teen activity on June 9th so hopefully I'll have pictures from those things too.

I'm goin' ta Texas... Yee- HAW!!!

I just found out last Friday that I'm going to a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School seminar in Texas. I finally found material that will work for my Sunday School class and a VBS program and now I get to go to a seminar for them. I'm so excited!!! I'm flying into Dallas and then staying with my best friend Ashley the whole time I'm there. She has two kids that I've never even met so that will be really fun too=)

Sorry I have posted for a while but no much has been going on. Brian and I are taking a mini vacation this weekend to Fairbanks. I got a certificate to Chena Hot Springs so we'll use that while we're up there too. I'm excited about our Fairbanks weekend too but its going to be cold!!!

Hope you are all doing well. Take Care!

God is so Good

I was just working on the "Recently Saved" board for church that pastor asked me to help with and I realized that we've had 24 kids (eighth grade and younger) saved since August 7th. God's love and grace is truely amazing to me!!! It is really great to see what God is doing in the lives of these young kids.

I know Thanksgiving is over but I wanted to make a list of things I am thankful for... so here it goes.

I'm Thankful For...

1. My Salvation through Jesus Christ
2. My husband who loves me and would do anything for me
3. A country where we can freely worship the Lord and spread the Gospel
4. A church that has a desire to see people come to know Christ as their Savior.
5. A home to decorate for Christmas
6. My Kittens (even though they are now cats I guess)
7. A growing youth group
8. Loveing parents who are also my best friends
9. A flexible work schedule
10. Wonderful friends that I can depend on
11. The telephone and email
12. My sister, my brothers-in-law, and my sister-in-law.
13. Babies (no I'm not having one but I'm thankful that Hannah did and I hope they come visit soon)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! We all have so much to be thankful for...
